How to back up your WordPress website (SiteGround Hosting)

All of SiteGround’s Managed WordPress Hosting Plans come with automatic daily backups. This means that SiteGround will create a backup of your WordPress files and database.

Before you run your WordPress updates, you should either check that you have an acceptably recent backup, or create an instant backup.

How to review your daily backup on SiteGround

  1. Login to your SiteGround Account https://login.siteground.com/login
  2. Go to Websites > Locate your site name and to the right, select Site Tools
  3. Go to Site Tools > Security > Backups
  4. Scroll down to section “Manage Backups.” There you will see a list of your recent hosting-level backups.

IMPORTANT! It is highly recommended that you contact SiteGround support or your web developer for assistance if you are considering rolling your site back to a previous day, or restoring your site from a backup!

How to create a new instant backup on SiteGround

  1. Login to your SiteGround Account https://login.siteground.com/login
  2. Go to Websites tab > Locate your site name and to the right > Click Site Tools
  3. Go to Site Tools > Click Security > Click Backups
  4. Section “Create & Restore” > fill in the Backup Name
  5. Click Create. After a few minutes, the backup
